Scholarship recognises Philip Gandar’s legacy

An annual scholarship to honour Philip Gandar’s passion

As many of you know, our great friend, colleague and Synergia founding partner, Philip Gandar, sadly passed away just before Christmas 2016.

Philip’s legacy includes Synergia itself and our core values and approach. During his career Philip contributed to many fundamental improvements to health and social services across New Zealand and Australia.

However, it is in the area of mental health where Philip did some of his most important work. He passionately believed our society and services could be improved to enable better mental health across a lifetime.

To honour Philip’s passion, Synergia and his family are in the process of establishing an annual scholarship open to people doing research into mental health and wellbeing.

Preference will be given to topics that explore system-level issues, leadership and continuous improvement. The scholarship will be for $10,000, will be open across Australia and New Zealand and will include post grad students and people working in the industry.

Synergia will provide further details of scholarship and application criteria in early 2018.
